Pre-Survey Resources

Here you will find a complete overview of all resources as well as tips and strategies to optimize your use of the Guarding Minds tools and related resources. 


This includes how to make the business case, get buy-in, communicate your plan, choose your approach and successfully set your organization up to address and improve psychological health and safety. 


Each of the statements included in the employee survey are available to preview. You can also view the statements by psychosocial factor, psychosocial hazard or indicators of workplace inclusion, stress or trauma.

Assessment-Related Resources

This user guide will help you with the technical and administrative implementation of the Guarding Minds at Work assessment tools.


Modify this suggested wording to introduce the survey to your employees.


You can use this collaborative approach with or without the employee survey. It engages leaders and decision-makers in reviewing the current status of the organization against the psychosocial factors. This can be compared to the survey results or used on its own to create an action plan.


This scan is a 6-item employee questionnaire that indicates to what extent your employees report being stressed or satisfied at work. It is intended to be used when conducting the full survey is not practical.


Once you have your completed report, this information can help you to analyze your results, share them with others and begin to plan for effective action.

This process provides you with strategies and tools to create effective and sustainable changes that support psychological health and safety at work. This information is intended for those responsible for policy and process change.


On the agenda is a workshop series based on each psychosocial factor and includes free materials and facilitator tools. There are two parts to the series:

  • Creating Awareness supports a psychologically safe team discussion about what team members can do to improve psychological health and safety without necessarily having budget or authority to change policy.
  • Creating Change gathers employee feedback and supports decision makers to focus on organizational policies and processes that support psychological health and safety.

These free online learning modules help employees learn how to contribute to a mentally healthy workplace. This orientation to psychological health and safety at work is for individuals.


This free resource helps leaders become aware of the impact they can have on the psychological health and safety of employees at work. It helps leaders improve communication, social intelligence, fairness and problem-solving.
